New opinion survey of African Americans to be released at ‘When Black Women Lead’ conference

Data show most do not think it is a good time to be Black in America
WASHINGTON – In Our Own Voice: National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda will release data from a national poll of Black adults, ”The lives and Voices of Black America on the Intersections of Politics, Race and Public Policy,” as part of their four-day summit in Washington, D.C. The data reveal unique insights into the priorities of African Americans and the specific concerns of Black women.

The findings will be presented during the “When Black Women Lead” conference, on Monday, September 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. The summit will bring together Black women grassroots activists and leaders from across the country to share information and plan strategies to ensure that Black women’s voices are heard and will influence policies at the local, state and national levels. The summit will be open to the media on Monday, September 25, when participants will assess the state of Black women’s rights, share successful policies and strategies and identify barriers to change. The polling data will be released during the “The State of Black Women and Reproductive Justice” discussion.
