On February 6, 2025, we had the honor of welcoming some of the most dedicated Reproductive Justice (RJ) leaders to the 119th Congress during our ‘Welcome to the Hill’ event, which was attended by nearly 100 guests. This powerful gathering sparked an important conversation on how we can continue to fight for the human rights and autonomy of Black women, girls, and gender-expansive people, ensuring they remain at the center of policymaking.

A special congratulations to Congresswoman Emilia Sykes (D-OH) for being named Chair of the newly formed Reproductive Justice Task Force, which is within the Reproductive Freedom Caucus. Congresswoman Sykes’ leadership is a monumental step in advancing RJ policies that reflect the needs of Black communities.

We also extend a heartfelt thank you to the Reproductive Freedom Caucus and its co-chairs, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) and Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO), for helping to host this important event.

We were also joined by other key Congressional leaders who demonstrated their commitment to Reproductive Justice, including Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA), Rep. Tim Kennedy (D-NY), Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), and Rep. Gil Cisneros (D-CA). This event underscored the strength of collective action and the power of centering RJ in the policymaking process. Together, we continue to pave the way for a future where reproductive justice is a reality for all.
