Following our largest applicant pool in NGLI history, we are thrilled to announce the incredible class of 2022-2024 Next Generation Leadership Institute Fellows!
We’ve been searching for the brightest rising stars in Reproductive Justice – young people who are ready to carry the RJ torch and spread their passion for the repro movement to their peers. Now, we are proud to introduce our most diverse group of Next Generation Leadership Institute Fellows yet, representing a record ten HBCUs across the country.
This year, we welcome students from Langston University in Oklahoma, Tougaloo College in Mississippi, and Johnson C. Smith in North Carolina for the very first time.

About Next Generation Leadership Institute:
The Next Generation Leadership Institute is dedicated to training Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) students to become leaders in Reproductive Justice. This two-year, paid fellowship, spanning the nine-month academic year, focuses on core competencies such as Reproductive Justice, Leadership, Advocacy, and Movement Building.

The Next Generation Leadership Institute is actively shaping the future of Reproductive Justice by cultivating an innovative program highlighting important issues impacting Black women, girls, and gender-expensive people. The 2018- 2024 cohorts, led by In Our Own Voice: National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda, have already produced fearless leaders from nine HBCUs nationwide. We seek the next group of passionate trailblazers to carry the torch forward in the 2024-2026 cohort!

Next Generation Leadership Institute Fellowship FAQ
1. What is the Next Generation Leadership Institute Fellowship?
The Next Generation Leadership Institute Fellowship is a two-year, paid fellowship program designed to train Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) students to become leaders in Reproductive Justice. The program focuses on core competencies such as Reproductive Justice, Leadership, Advocacy, and Movement Building.
2. Who is eligible to apply?
Eligible candidates are students currently enrolled in bachelor’s programs at HBCUs and passionate about driving positive change in Reproductive Justice. Qualified candidates must have at least two years remaining in their degree program. Unfortunately, this excludes high school students, third or fourth-year students, recent graduates, graduate students, and other students who do not attend HBCUs.

By joining the fellowship, you’ll become part of a community of leaders actively shaping the future of Reproductive Justice.
