As the flowers bloom and the air fills with the promise of new beginnings, there's…
Black Herstory Month
Year round, our Next Generation Institute Fellows are championing Reproductive Justice, following in the footsteps of the many Black women leaders who came before them. To keep them inspired and grounded in their advocacy work, In Our Own Voice sent each of its fellows a library this past holiday season, stocked with RJ reads that broaden their understanding of the RJ framework.
For Black History Month, In Our Own Voice asked the fellows to read When and Where I Enter: The Impact of Black Women on Race and Sex in America by Paula Giddings and reflect on the influential Black women activists highlighted, including Ida B. Wells, Fannie Lou Hamer, and Mary McCleod Bethune, among others. During their monthly webinar, we asked the fellows to share which activist most inspired them to continue their tireless advocacy efforts on their campus and beyond. Check out what they had to say below.
Keep up with the Next Generation Leadership Institute here, as they continue to draw and share inspiration from their RJ Library.
